Addressing the global hot topic: Green Tech

Climate change is an all encompassing challenge. In order to solve the climate crisis and achieve net-zero ambitions, every major sector of the global economy will need to transform, which it can only do through technological innovation.

While development of innovative technologies that reduce global greenhouse gas emissions has been widespread, from carbon capture storage to green hydrogen, there remains debate on whether these technologies can be scaled up to reflect the enormity of the climate challenge in time to make a critical difference. Moreover many of the technologies needed to reduce emissions in the hard to abate sectors are still in their infancy.

In order to transform the global economy through technological innovation, executives, entrepreneurs and investors alike will need to work together to develop the market and ensure that more projects get to the next stage of commercial demonstration. They will need to overcome and reduce the green premium of products compared to their non-sustainable counterparts, scale up production of existing and new technology, and mobilise capital to support the deployment of the most impactful technologies.
