2020 was a testing year for asset owners. The spread of Covid-19 has caused economies to crater, forcing governments to conduct massive bouts of QE and central banks to slash interest rates to rock bottom levels. At the same time geopolitical and trade tensions still abound, the future of which under a more pro-globalisation Biden administration is still uncertain.

The result has been a fundamental undermining of many of the financial market norms once relied upon by asset owners. They must urgently change the way they think and invest as they seek to recalibrate their portfolios in this new environment.
