Blockchain and Distributed Ledger technologies was characterized by the consolidation of numerous projects launched in previous years by companies - from poc proof of concept to business-oriented applications - and by the improvement of platform performance. There were also the most radical innovations both in terms of technology, such as Ethereum which will introduce the Proof of Stake with Ethereum 2.0, and in terms of new players, such as the entry of Facebook with Libra and Telegram with TON.

Finally, public institutions, which until now had remained at the window, have started to invest decisively in this technology, see European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI).

This global awareness has fully decreed the entry of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger among the leading technologies of the coming years. Through the ecosystems built through them it is in fact possible to solve the problem of lack of trust in the absence of centralized intermediaries, thus enabling the Internet of Value.

During the conference, the research results of the Blockchain & Distributed Ledger Observatory will be presented on the most interesting technological developments, the level of national and international adoption, the point of view of the main ecosystem players and the most interesting applications. The results of the research will be discussed and commented on in round tables that will involve important Italian supply and demand companies and some authoritative national and international representatives.
