A new normal is emerging for M&A after the pandemic brought many changes to our economic landscape and altered earnings and growth plans for many community banks. Banks of all sizes and types across the country are reevaluating their strategic options as they assess the changes in their local markets as well as the industry in general. Opportunities abound as we emerge from this crisis.
In this session we will:
• Evaluate how community bank profitability has been impacted by the pandemic and expectations going forward
• Examine the market for publicly-traded bank stocks and the resulting implications for M&A pricing and activity
• Review the latest pricing and availability of capital planning tools such as subordinated debt
• Review the details of recent M&A transaction activity and pricing and what trends we expect in the near term
• Discuss the outlook for bank M&A from the perspective of both buyers and sellers
