The financial sector is at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation. Cyber-attacks on financial institutions are more frequent and sophisticated than before. As a result, Federal and local regulators have increased focus on mitigating and managing cyber risk. In 2013, the White House Executive Order instructed the Department of Homeland Security to identify financial institutions with exposure to cyber incidents and deeming the Financial Service sector a vital component of our nation’s critical infrastructure. Since then, we have seen the formation of FS-ISAC, FBIIC, and FSSCC to oversee information sharing and resilience of the sector. These new organizations coordinate the development of initiatives with financial service members, DHS, US Treasury, US Cyber Command, FBI, SEC, NYSDFS, NYPD, and other regulatory agencies.
At this event, attendees will learn what critical issues threaten financial firms and how to address them, plus gain an extensive understanding of the wide range of existing threats within the growing global financial industry. The conversation, led by senior thought leaders in both the US military and private sector, will be focused on unique perspectives and tactics utilized to successfully execute a robust, enterprise wide cyber security strategy.
Learning Outcomes:
• Defining which clear and present cyber security threats exist, and how to address them
• How to survive a real cyber security attack
• SEC expectations and how to satisfy them
• Insights on sharp cyber risks assessment
• Preventing critical data loss
• Monitoring vendors and assessing cyber strategies effectiveness
• Responding to cyber events once detected
