Computer vision enables machines to collect and process visual data from the world around them to accomplish complex tasks that require visual understanding. Robots are equipped with cameras and other sensors that capture visual information, and they use computer vision algorithms to extract meaningful information from that data. Vision-based autonomous robots are able to perceive and interpret their surroundings, detect and recognize objects and people they have never seen before, and understand and respond to human behavior. This paves the way for even more sophisticated and capable robots in customer service, education, environmental monitoring, manufacturing, search and rescue operations, or space exploration.
Join this AI for Good webinar to learn about the latest advances in computer vision for robotics that are enabling robots to “see”, its main applications for social good, and the challenges that remain in this field.
