This MCR required seminar provides a comprehensive overview of financial analysis and management within a corporate real estate (CRE) context. The seminar begins with a review of fundamental corporate finance principles such as risk and return, cost of capital, net present value, and discount rate selection. Heavy emphasis is placed on using Microsoft Excel to work through case studies which apply these concepts to the analysis of alternative lease structures, lease buyouts, and buy vs. lease decisions. Issues are explored from the perspectives of real estate investors and corporate financial risk. You will need your own laptop to participate.
