As the key representative body for major companies in Australia on corporate tax issues, the CTA’s Convention program focusses solely on tax issues affecting large corporates. Our program is developed by the CTA’s secretariat and is a direct reflection of the daily interactions we have with our members and our intimate understanding of the issues impacting their businesses. The program is designed to draw out discussion and debate around these issues, with a focus on practical outcomes and solutions. We have an unprecedented number of CTA members participating in the Convention this year – we thank each of them for their commitment.
This program has been developed in the midst of the 2019 election, an evolving international tax framework and an ongoing Australian Taxation Office focus on ‘justified trust’. Key sessions throughout the Convention will explore how these features are likely to play out in the large corporate space. We are very fortunate to have our keynote speaker MrDavid Bradbury (Head of the Tax Policy and Statistics Division, OECD) join us on Day Two (Tuesday 18 June) for a panel discussion on tax and the digital economy, with a focus on issues for the region and globally. David’s participation at this year’s Convention highlights the CTA’s combined Day Two program with the IFA Regional Conference. We extend a warm welcome to all IFA participants, and encourage CTA members to explore the option of attending Day Two of the IFA Conference (Wednesday 19 June) at the discounted rate of $325 (GST inclusive) for IFA members and $425 (GST inclusive) for non IFA members. Please visit the conference site to find out more or to register.
