Cybercriminals thrive on instability, and 2021 has so far offered rich pickings: from the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus pandemic to economic and technological disruption as we adapt to the digital age, this year has been dominated by an increasingly complex threat landscape for financial services firms.

As employees shift towards a hybrid working model in the long term, companies have struggled to keep data safe across on-premise and cloud storage, with siloed legacy systems adding to the compliance and security headaches presented by a disparate and digital-first workforce.
