There's no doubt about it, 2019 will be a landmark year for Defined Contribution pension schemes. Consolidation - in the form of The Pension Regulator's Master Trust Authorisation Regime - is set to change the face of DC provision, with a swathe of master trusts applying for authorisation (39 in total), and a further 44 exiting the market.
Meanwhile the growth of DC schemes continues apace; TPR's figures show that membership in schemes with 12 or more members increased by 33% over the past year, and have increased by over 640% since the beginning of 2010, fuelled in no small part by the continued success of auto-enrolment. It's a breath-taking pace that is driving improvement and change across the DC landscape, from the design of default options and expansion in investment innovation in an uncertain world, to better understanding of the decumulation path at retirement. But regardless of the changing environment one constant remains: the continuing quest for value for members.
Defined Contribution Conference will address these themes, and more, with presentations from industry experts and providers, and a wealth of networking opportunities.
