Over the past 18 years, the Directed Energy Systems forum has become the most internationally focused and innovative DES forum worldwide. This year, the theme is "INTEGRATING DIRECTED ENERGY FOR USE BY THE WARFIGHTER" - drawing on directed energy solution providers with the military capability leads, directed energy researchers and users who are rapidly seeking to unlock the military utility of directed energy.
While these weapons have been in development for decades, it is only in recent years that they have started to become a viable option for military forces. We will explore how the industry is helping to make DEWs a reality by addressing key technical challenges, such as beam quality, power management, atmospheric compensation, and much more.
The conference is an opportunity to hear from senior scientists and engineers who are at the forefront of this exciting field. These experts will share their insights into how they are improving the performance of directed energy weapons, and discuss the latest research findings and trends in this area.
Another key focus of discussion will be the SWaP-C trade-offs involved in directed energy weapons. As we all know, the size, weight, power, and cost of these weapons are critical factors that can have a significant impact on their effectiveness in the field. The conference explore the latest developments in these areas, and discuss how industry is working to balance these trade-offs to produce weapons that meet the needs of military end-users.
Of course, this conference is about more than just learning and knowledge-sharing. It is also an opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, forge new relationships, and strengthen existing ones. We encourage you to take advantage of the many networking opportunities available, including the welcome reception, coffee breaks, and other social events.
