The seminar will discuss the rules governing entitlement to Tax Treaty Benefits and Benefits under the EU Tax Directives in the light of a number of recent judgments. Tax Treaty Recognition and entitlement to benefits contemplated in EU Law cannot be taken for granted, in a post-BEPS world especially. After identifying a number of case-studies, the seminar will speculate with respect to whether select types of Maltese taxpayers could experience problems in claiming rights emanating from international tax law.
