This is an annual conference on themes and developments in liability law, litigation and underwriting and the implications for the re/insurance industry.

Most COVID-19 related claims and associated litigation have focused on property business interruption. But there are signs of a pick-up in claims in liability lines. Further out, industry practitioners are steeling themselves for liability claims as vaccines are rolled out and employees return to work as well as potential exposure from ‘long COVID’. Against that backdrop, the conference aims to explore the lessons liability insurers should learn from the latest episode in order to position themselves better to deal with future pandemics. This includes how to think about such (fat) tail risks like pandemics and the implications of likely societal shifts in light of heightened recognition of such uncertainties.
