R U OK? Day is a national reminder that we’ve all got what it takes to ask, “are you OK?” and support those struggling with life. For most of us, our eyes, ears and mouths are the resources we can use to support those around us. However, sometimes we can feel apprehensive or unprepared for a conversation where the person may say, “no I’m not OK”… And that’s OK.
The FBAA wants the industry to have a discussion about mental health, with a majority of brokers saying they feel highly stressed. We are very aware that brokers put a lot of pressure on themselves to chase work and complete deals. We acknowledge that health, and in particular mental health, is an increasing concern in the community and a key issue for the financial services sector. We aim to address this with targeted initiatives to better equip brokers in responding to the circumstances they face.
Please join us for an information packed event; morning tea will be served as you listen to health advocates, and be led by a workplace mental health professional that specialises in psychological consulting, injury management, and risk prevention services. This event will feature keynote speakers from Beyond Blue, and Tony Bradford from the Centre for Corporate Health Pty Ltd.
