The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is convening a webinar designed to encourage mortgage holders, mortgage servicers, and lenders to promote mitigation services to customers with forbearances in order to minimize foreclosure actions against homeowners. Low-income homeowners in Washington face housing insecurity as forbearance moratoriums expire in 2021. Speakers will provide an overview of programs and services to assist homeowners trying to navigate the potential forbearance/foreclosure crisis. Banks will be able to identify potential partners in order to collaboratively implement mortgage forbearance solutions for customers. Nonprofit and community-based organizations will be able to identify best practices, existing resources, and financial institutions partners. Attendees are encouraged to network and collaborate so that low- income residents are connected with forbearance/foreclosure mitigation resources providers.
