The Federal Reserve launched the Fedline Security and Resiliency Assurance Program which requires all Fedline Advantage and Fedline for the Web customers to complete an attestation of over 50 security controls required for use with these software packages and services.
While doing a self-assessment of these 50 controls is mentioned, the requirement also noted the Federal Reserve may contact a financial institution and require the attestation to be done by an independent third-party auditor. Whether required or not, institutions should consider an independent review in place of a self-assessment for several reasons. This presentation will cover some of the harder to interpret controls and give examples of non-compliance that has been seen within the first year of this new requirement.
