This seminar aims to analyse the main issues related to the adaptation of the payment systems and market infrastructures and the solutions implemented, both from a technical and a legal point of view. An overview of innovation in terms of means of payment and the related supervision is also included.

This seminar will cover the following topics:
• Technical and legal aspects of payment systems and market infrastructures,
• New rules in the oversight of financial markets infrastructures (FMI),
• Focus on some FMI’s actors : central counterparties and trade repositories,
• Large-value payment system (TARGET2), Delivery versus Payment of securities in central bank money (TARGET2 Securities).
• Innovation in payment instruments and related supervision.
• Case study on crisis management in TARGET2.
• Roundtables will be organised to foster exchanges of information and sharing of best practices among the participants who will have the opportunity to present the specificities of their national payment systems or instruments.

Participants
This seminar is intended for senior management in charge of departments operating or overseeing payment systems. Participants are required to have a sound knowledge of payment systems and organization of market infrastructures.
