As Australia reopens, its businesses face the uncertainty of finding their way in the newest normal. Geopolitical upheavals have affected many aspects of commerce; policy stimulus rollbacks, inflation and supply chain displacements have taken their toll; upward pressure on interest rates, soaring real estate prices and high levels of household debt are a deadly combination; and safe havens for investment are becoming fewer.
