The financial services industry landscape has always been subjected to disruption and innovation. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken this push towards digital transformation to newer and unexplored frontiers. In order to provide customised services in real-time in an increasingly O2O (online-to-offline) environment and to enable greater security, financial institutions are modernising their technology architecture and infrastructure with cloud-based capabilities.

At the same time, the increase in number of remote workers,Internet-of-Things (IoT) and other connected devices, have led to a proliferation of access points, making the environment more vulnerable to different forms of cyber-attacks. In order to deal with this challenge, financial institutions need to shift their fundamental security paradigm of an open network to azero-trust model. This also includes incorporating rigorous access controls and system protection that span thedistributed network comprisingof devices, users, endpoints, cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), as well as infrastructure.

Fortinet, in collaboration with The Asian Banker, is organising Secure FSI Summit 2021 whichwill debate key issues surrounding the implementation of an effective and integrated security environment as well as building multi-cloud strategyfor rapidly increasing networks.
