Sphere Conference partnered with Vietnam Hotel Association for the 1st time in 2017 and this partnership brought together close to 350 decision makers from 12 different countries with the same goal of understanding what opportunities in the hospitality sector the Vietnam market has to offer. We had the honour of having Mr Ngo Hoai Chung, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to deliver the opening ministerial address.

The conference began on a note of optimism as Mdm Do Thi Hong Xoan, Chairwoman of Vietnam Hotel Association, shared the news that Vietnam welcomed more than 10 million international visitors in 2016 alone and within the first 3 months of 2017, the total number of international tourism is more than 3.2 million, which represents a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2016. These numbers are made up of mostly tourist from Northeast Asia which accounts for 57% of the total numbers.

The conference program featured engaging panels such as the Overview of the hotel business operations and investment in Vietnam; Performance outlook for Vietnam – Key cities and destinations, including a look beyond RevPAR; Conversation with investment thought leaders; How will the new wave of development shape the perception of Vietnamese hospitality. Conference Chairperson – Ken Atkinson of Grant Thornton Vietnam, opened the conference with a vote of confidence that Vietnam will continue to be the hottest hospitality market in Asia.
