The future will require new capabilities to align its consumption with the maximum business outcome. First of all, the CIO will have to know and interpret the effectiveness of all infrastructural elements, leveraging observability and visibility tools to ensure the performance of consumption models, the automation of IT operations and the resilience of the architecture. Second, it will need to accelerate the speed of IT transformation by proactively breaking down operational silos and focusing on business-centric KPIs.
In many cases, this approach has required the IT function to rapidly migrate workloads out of traditional data centers, building new relationships with partners. In the coming years, successful IT organizations will deploy.
• Infrastructural integrity
By 2023, more than 80% of G2000 companies will use business resilience to measure the integrity of IT infrastructure components as a mandatory and non-negotiable assessment criterion for suppliers.
• Sustainable goals
By 2024, 75% of G2000 companies' requests to IT vendors will require them to demonstrate progress in ESG initiatives, as CIOs will rely on infrastructure partners to achieve sustainability goals.
• Emerging technologies
By 2025, 70% of companies will invest in alternative and emerging information technologies to drive business differentiation by reducing the time to value of insights from complex data sets.
