Passive investing is boring? We do not believe that. The providers of index solutions have become the innovation driver of the financial industry. Whenever investors seek entry into a new asset class, new ETF or other index products are launched in no time. Cheap, diverse and transparent - this is how the products present themselves.

With these benefits in mind, it's no wonder that many clients - both retail and institutional investors - are already investing a majority of their investments in index solutions. However, with the increasing popularity, the responsibility of the industry is growing. The more complicated the passive products are, the more customers need serious information and orientation in the product jungle.

For more and more tasks, which were previously only carried out by active fund managers, are now mapped using index-based rules. Examples include currency hedging, a focus on specific investment styles, and smart beta approaches, where a yield premium to the overall market is in evidence.
