Trade finance has for years been the stalwart of Asian transaction banking businesses, providing banks with a healthy stream of revenue through the vast amounts of international trade taking place in the region. Whilst traditional documentary trade is still the 'bread and butter' of banks in the region, many firms are now increasing their offering in the more innovative 'supply chain finance' space. Banks have to identify the new opportunities available in this new environment, leveraging on technology and digitalisation in order to continue earning profits from this business. With alternative lenders coming into contention, banks need to reassess the lending structure and try to close the trade finance gap with easier access of funding.

This marcus evans conference will feature case studies from industry leaders on how to digitalise the trade finance function including moving beyond PoCs for blockchain and Internet of Things. Delegates will gain insights on the changing nature of corporate clients, especially in the APAC region which is seeing growth across the SME sector, as well as the role alternate lenders will play in this changing landscape.

With innovation taking the spotlight, it will be useful to examine how banks are interchanging structures in different areas of trade finance. The conference will also give delegates the opportunity to come together to discuss regulatory and acceptability challenges in trade finance, where an industry-wide collaboration is integral for things to be resolved.

Key Topics:
• Discover the latest digital developments in trade, commodity, and supply chain finance
• Assess the implications of increasing AML, KYC and regulatory scrutiny for your business
• Hear how alternative financing and technology is revolutionising the trade finance function
• See the latest examples of innovation in supply chain finance products
• Mitigate fraud dangers and other risks in the commodity trade finance space
