It is an exciting time for Wigan as the town gears up for the ‘once in a lifetime’ arrival of HS2. The high speed rail line’s route through Wigan will see the redevelopment of the town centre and station gateway. As Wigan embraces the opportunities of being an hour away from London, the town centre will see rejuvenation.
Crucial to the redevelopment is the Wigan Pier Quarter. Not only is Wigan Council announcing its developer for the historic part of town, but it will also act as a tangible bridge between the traditional town centre and the out-of-town Robin Park area. But meanwhile what options are there to refresh the town centre? Could we see a new residential offering in the once retail based business heart?
Insider’s Invest in Wigan breakfast will bring together speakers from local businesses, with top developers, HS2 experts and council leaders.
