The IT Financial Management Association (ITFMA) was established in 1988 and founded the IT Financial Management profession at that time. ITFMA is the only association dedicated to this profession and provides a comprehensive education program on the principles and practices used to financially manage Information Technology (IT) organizations. ITFMA is the national leader in the education of IT financial management professionals and the only recognized provider of certification in the various financial disciplines of IT financial management. Their Journal of IT Financial Management is the only magazine devoted to issues of interest to our profession and their website (www.itfma.com) is the only site focused on research, surveys and publications in this field.
The policy of ITFMA is to offer quality programs through an association of peers in the field of IT financial management in order to achieve the following objectives:
• Establish and improve IT financial management policies and procedures
• Promote professional development and personal advancement
• Encourage fellowship and communication among the membership and throughout the IT Financial Management profession.
This year's program of conferences and optional pre-conference seminars/workshops will offer a comprehensive agenda addressing the principles and practices used by IT financial management for planning, controlling, pricing, evaluating and decision making purposes. Most of the sessions at the multi-conference programs are conducted by practitioners, mostly from the business and government communities, who have extensive experience in IT financial management. The speakers offer a thorough working knowledge of critical IT financial policies, practices and procedures, while a select group of best-in-class speakers are used as the nucleus of instructors at many of the conferences and seminars.
Optional pre-conference seminars, workshops and forum are offered to provide in-depth presentations and discussions of current IT financial issues and best practices in the areas of activity based cost management, asset management, benchmarking, chargeback, controllership, expense management, government financial management, performance management, and telecommunications. Luncheon theme tables are used to promote peer networking among those from the same industry and with similar job responsibilities.
