Kuwait, the world’s 9th largest oil producer, has set plans to push its oil and gas downstream production capacity by 2040, dedicating more than $25 bn to boost downstream projects. With the aim to increase refining capacity, the state-owned KNPC has launched the Clean Fuel Project and the expansion of Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries. The country has also announced plans for two new oil refineries with a 300,000 bpd capacity, planned to be commissioned by 2025 and 2035.
These expansion plans have made it necessary for the industry to ensure business and operational continuity to sustain profitability. To achieve this, maintenance in the oil and gas downstream sector can play a key role, as when executed in a cost-effective and efficient manner, it can largely affect the profits and losses of refineries and petrochemical plants which can accumulate to nearly one-third of non-energy cash costs. Besides profitability, maintenance has also health, safety, and environmental impacts. Such challenges pose as great threats to the oil and gas downstream sector, therefore, decision makers need to ensure the adoption of best practices and solutions in maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime, cost, and HSE risks.
This gathering will shed light on the growing oil and gas downstream sector in Kuwait and tackle maintenance challenges that are currently faced in petrochemical plants and refineries. Maintenance experts and oil and gas downstream industry professionals will come together to discuss best practices, share knowledge, and unravel versatile solutions that will achieve optimal plant productivity and minimize maintenance downsides.
The Conference includes 2 technical workshops pre and post conference will bring forth the latest discoveries, insights, and industry breakthroughs in the oil and gas downstream sector, that will shape and advance maintenance professionals’ skills and knowledge.
