Financial history was made on January 1, 2022, a benchmark that has been a fixture in global markets for 45 years, was no longer allowed to be used in loan contracts for regulated entities. Since then, momentum has been building in the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR), the recommended alternative.
