The event is the largest of its kind dedicated to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) that has over 13,000 employers, over 5 million members and assets of over £225 billion. The conference attracts 400 attendees including local authority officers, councillors and their advisers.

Our conference theme this year is ‘LGPS: Leading, Growing, Changing’. The changes impacting local authorities are vast and happening at an accelerated rate. Investment pooling, new regulations around data security and maintenance, cost transparency and a raft of external pressures are all challenges that schemes must navigate. In these uncertain times when the UK is divided with political discord and faces a difficult economic scenario, local authorities must continue to move forward and make decisions that will help secure our nation’s future.

The programme features senior government policy makers and influencers, high profile industry figures and people from outside the pensions sector, bringing some new ideas to the fore.
