OMFIF is convening an in-person roundtable to discuss the findings of McKinsey Global Institute’s recent ‘Global Balance Sheet’ report. The report looks at the global economy not through gross domestic product or other metrics of economic flows, but by borrowing a tool from the corporate world: the balance sheet. Moderated by David Marsh, chair, OMFIF, and featuring Michael Birshan, senior partner, McKinsey & Company, and Jan Mischke, partner, MGI, this invitation-only meeting will bring together influential financial policy-makers and practitioners as well as representatives of UK and international banks and the financial community.
The discussion will delve into the report and the timely questions it raises about how productively we are using our wealth, applying balance sheet principles to the global economy as well as its underlying health and resilience after two decades of financial turbulence and more than 10 years of robust central bank intervention, punctuated by the pandemic.
