Our Mission:

NAGGL is the only national trade association serving the private-sector lenders that provide the access to capital critical to fuel small businesses––the engine that drives the nation’s economy and job creation. We support lending participants in the SBA’s flagship 7(a) business loan program. The public policy goal of the 7(a) business loan program is to provide credit to small businesses that are unable to secure financing on reasonable terms through conventional channels. Private-sector lenders make 7(a) loans partially guaranteed by the SBA in case of default to these small businesses. This effective public-private partnership gives small businesses another opportunity for success beyond typical financing options.

Our Purpose:

Since 1984, NAGGL has taken seriously its mission to keep the 7(a) program viable, adequately funded, efficient, and available to small business borrowers. By providing a unified voice for over 900 banks, credit unions, and non-depository lenders who participate in the 7(a) business loan program, NAGGL advocates tirelessly with SBA leadership and on Capitol Hill to secure program and legislative changes to stabilize and increase the availability of capital for small businesses. We are the backbone of the 7(a) industry and the most trusted voice in SBA lending.
