In today’s dynamic global economy, leaders face constant change, complexity and challenge. Global gatherings such as the B20 and G20 give decision-makers the chance to step back from day-to-day tactics, planning and implementation to focus on the more fundamental issues that are shaping the world and informing strategy.

Such deeper reflection reveals that many certainties of the previous stage of globalisation are in doubt. Global supply chains built for scale and efficiency in an open, rules-based trading system, for example, must now be reconfigured for resilience and sustainability in the face of greater geopolitical risks.

To successfully navigate this next stage of globalisation—new globalisation—it must first be understood. Leaders also need to innovate, particularly by harnessing new technologies that are being adopted at speed. Fortunately, the more pressing global challenges become, the more policymakers and leaders in business and civil society manage to align themselves and find creative solutions that can deliver equitable and sustainable socio-economic outcomes.

Economist Impact is delighted to invite you to an invitation-only gathering of leaders to explore these and related issues. On the eve of the B20 Summit, our events will draw on fresh, research-led insights from Economist Impact and the collective wisdom of our speakers to ask:

• What are the contours and realities of the new globalisation?
• How can we map and harness global innovation ecosystems to deliver progress?
• What insights can leaders in multiple sectors share with each other?
• How can we draw closer to hasten the creation of more sustainable, equitable and inclusive societies?
