Each year the SVBF conducts educational programs and an annual two-day seminar on topics of current interest to the membership and the public. The SVBF programs generally address concerns of all persons and entities involved in the bankruptcy or insolvency process.

The SVBF is one of seven chapters which together constitute the California Bankruptcy Forum. The California Bankruptcy Forum is an organization comprised of local bankruptcy forums throughout the State of California. Its main purpose is to provide educational support and networking opportunities between its members, thereby providing better service to the general public in the bankruptcy field.
