About
Dear,
If there is a phenomenon not to be overlooked in 2018, it is the extraordinary rise of cryptocurrencies . What was recently considered only as a new means of exchange , peripheral and essentially speculative , is a subject of great concern and interest for all financial professionals .
AGEFI therefore had to accompany all the economic players to understand the development of virtual currencies , developments to become framed and opportunities to seize on this market. This is the goal of our unpublished conference.
Central banks and regulators are, of course, watching the development of trading platforms and new modes of virtual transactions. All over the world, beyond the first movement of mistrust and prohibition, it is more a question of better controlling the development of crypto-currencies and preventing their use for the purposes of tax evasion or money laundering.
In France, in particular, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers has published a blacklist of 15 cryptocurrency platforms . But it is not for the authorities to stifle innovation in the financial sector, as evidenced by the order for the use of technology "blockchain" for the transfer of securities which will come into force on 1 st July 2018 Beyond the legal vacuum that this text allows to fill, what will be the concrete consequences for the use of cryptocurrencies?
The development of "initial coin offering" (ICO) , driven by unrestrained speculation, is also in the line of sight of the regulators. To limit the frauds and exuberance of these fundraisers used by many start-up blockchain, what real contribution of charters and procedures KYC? What follow-up to the AMF consultation on ICO launched in October 2017? What legal status for tokens or tokens? Can an evolution of the fiscal framework be envisaged?
Could the ICOs definitely change the way the private sector raises capital and not remain reserved for business blockchain and decentralized networks?
Finally, investment funds are also interested in cryptocurrencies. In France, several players have already allocated envelopes to bitcoin and a first bitcoin fund has been created. The question of the most relevant vehicle category remains central. What is the appetite of traditional investors for this type of fund and how to facilitate their access?
To answer these questions, AGEFI offers you a unique meeting bringing together pioneer and representative speakers from all the actors involved in this new ecosystem to discuss and share their experience with you.
I am pleased to welcome you on this occasion, please accept, Madam and Sir, the expression of my cordial greetings.
