The world’s urban population has been growing at dizzying speeds. In fact, two thirds of all people are projected to live in cities by 2050. As people become more concentrated, so does their exposure to disaster and climate risk, making investment in resilience more important than ever. Unfortunately, the financing needs for resilient development are far greater than what is on offer from traditional sources of financing. To investigate how cities can better access non-traditional sources of financing for resilience, and thereby enable investors to enter new markets, this event will showcase key issues faced by major global cities in building their resilience, and give the audience a front-row seat to insights from investors on cities can attract the resources they need for success.
