The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented in many ways for our lifetime. We are seeing its impact on individual lives, governments, and the global economy. According to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), 77% of members surveyed reported increasing levels of fraud amid COVID-19 disruption, one-third of them describing it as significant – and 92% expect it to climb further still.
For criminals, the pandemic crisis and chaos create the perfect conditions to target weaknesses and exploit the most vulnerable. Financial crime is estimated to cost the global economy $2.4 trillion, while the global cost of financial crime compliance is over $180 billion.
SAS, in partnership with Intel and Asian Banking & Finance, is co-hosting a forum to explore new and innovative ways to fight financial crimes, turn regulatory challenges into opportunities, and improve customer journey.
Join us at our SAS Singapore Fraud Day where we will explore how organizations today can continue to accelerate and innovate to prevent, monitor, detect and investigate fraudulent activity.
