The Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure) Bill has highlighted the significance and emphasised the importance of protecting Australia’s critical infrastructure and assets from malicious threats.
The recently amended legislation has increased the scope of the regulatory framework and enhanced the cyber security obligations for Australian operators in newly defined critical infrastructure sectors.
However, parts of the amended Act have been met with concerns and some confusion. Security leaders and company executives are now seeking more clarity around definitions of key terms within the legislation and clearer indications of responsibilities and liability from both regulators and operators.
This event will bring together leaders from Government and industry to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the SOCI Act in securing Australia’s critical assets and improving our overall national cyber security posture.
