This conference forms part of a day of special interest sessions comprising seven options. There will be a breakfast, three morning sessions and three afternoon sessions for you to choose from. Both STEP members and non-members are welcome!
Elder abuse is now recognised internationally as a pervasive and growing problem. Financial abuse of the elderly features heavily with increasing social pressures, fractured families, technological advances, and the use of internet banking all contributing to this issue. Although anyone can be at risk age, disability, cognitive impairment and poor mental health may make a person more vulnerable.
An international panel of speakers will cover legal, policy, regulatory and safeguarding issues that arise in this context from a global perspective with a spotlight on the challenges faced by the private client practitioner working in this area.
