It is always very exciting to start up and grow a business especially in the area of your professional competence. Accountancy is one such a profession. However, in the recent past, Auditing and Assurance services have been facing a number of challenges hence leading to a slow growth in number and members keen to becoming practitioners. This is more so after the passing of the new Companies Act 2015 that raised the bar for audit requirement. Most members start small firms characterized by inherent challenges and bottlenecks detrimental to growth.
ICPAK is committed to supporting and building new and emerging Small and Medium Practices in the country through provision of market driven training to the SMP Practitioners. Such challenges may include lack of practical experiences, poor and insufficient quality of professional staff and unethical business practices within the profession.
This one-day forum has been organized to induct new and upcoming practitioners in Small & Medium sized firms on matters that affect practice development. The forum will facilitate knowledge sharing, networking and exchange of ideas among audit and accounting practitioners in order to enable them acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in diverse areas of SMP development.

The forum intends to deliver and enhance business oriented technical and professional guidelines to independently and satisfactorily grow an audit practice by;
• Identifying, Discussing and Synthesizing basic ideas/tools required by practice firms and staff therein.
• Understanding and appreciating market dynamics and the regulatory environment;
• Attaining confidence to systematically serve clients of varying sizes, complexities and sectors.
