In 2023, Italy upgraded its already substantial PV capacity base with 4.8 GW of new solar capacity, thereby again ranking as one of Europe’s largest three solar markets. The country is on track to meet the targets set in its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) for 2030, but will need to ramp up its efforts further to meet the more ambitious updated targets of the EU’s Fit-for-55 package. Though new measures to speed up the deployment of renewables are being adopted under the PNIEC, Italy’s renewable energy market growth is challenged by grid capacity and connection constraints, and cumbersome regulatory conditions.

During the 10th edition of this summit, PV experts and professionals will share knowledge and practical experiences related to successfully financing and developing large-scale PV project development; navigating the red tape of its regulatory environment; playing the highly liquid PPA market; and making the best use of project hybridization. More than ever, our event will highlight the potential of energy storage, which - pushed by dedicated tenders - is set to really become a big part of the Italian market. With its traditional focus of uniting international players with local professionals, this Summit Italy - hosted on the 11th of July in Rome - will once again be the key platform to acquire the knowledge and connections crucial to succeeding in Italy’s solar market.
