The construction industry is facing a time of great change. Demographic changes will require more housing, and different and diverse types of housing, and greater demands will be made for the city's square meters to adapt to the ever-changing needs and composition of the population. At the same time, we are in a situation where we simply cannot afford to continue tearing down and building new every time a building no longer meets the needs or requirements we have for it.
Instead, it is necessary for the industry to become much better at working with the already existing square meters and for us to be trained in investigating what opportunities and potentials the buildings that already exist have, and how we can help those buildings to help us with supporting our needs.
Transformation, renovation, recycling and upcycling are some of the tools we can use when we have to investigate how we can give new life to an existing building mass. At the Sustainable Transformation conference, you can find out how to get started, and then you will get plenty of inspiration for how you can breathe new life into old buildings, without compromising either quality or economy.
