Since their introduction nearly three decades ago, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) have become an increasingly important part of the investment landscape for both retail and institutional investors. At the end of 2020, ETFs represented over $7 trillion AUM globally. Such growth has inevitably led to increased interest, both from savers, and also regulators and policymakers. The events of the last year have also given ETFs an opportunity to demonstrate their resilience in times of extreme market stress.
This event will provide a forum for a variety of market participants and regulators to discuss the development of ETFs and what the future holds. Discussions will cover topics such as:
• The impact of Brexit and regulation
• Possible market structure enhancements
• Distribution to the marketplace
