The purpose of the Summit is to provide a forum for listed companies, prospective issuers and their professional advisers to assess the impact of the Primary Markets Effectiveness Review in practice. With some of Lord Hill’s recommendations already in force, in particular the reduction of the free float and the introduction of the dual class share structures in the premium segment, has enough been done to encourage new issuers to list on the London market? More importantly, what more can be done to make the regime more user-friendly for companies currently listed? The Summit will address the wider reforms affecting listed companies, including the forthcoming Secondary Markets Capital Raising Review and the Treasury’s Prospectus Review. The event will focus on whether they have been effective in achieving the Government’s aim of making the UK a more attractive listing venue as envisaged in the Kalifa and Hill Reports. The Summit will also address TCFD reporting; the effect of climate change, sustainability and climate related disclosures on listed companies’ obligations; the practical implications of incorporating diversity reporting into the listing rules; and the London Stock Exchange’s proposals for a special market for private companies to trade shares publicly.
Topics to be covered include:
• The practical implications of the FCA’s changes to the Listing Rules and the impact of future changes
• Have the reforms to the Listing Regime led to the anticipated increase in London listings, particularly in the technology and high-growth sectors?
• The Treasury’s UK Prospectus Regime Review: how is it going to affect listed companies?
