Euromoney Conferences is delighted to announce the return of our CEE Covered Bond Briefing – to be held in virtual format - this coming January. In co-operation with supporting organisations, the ECBC and the EBRD, this interactive and informative event will bring together issuers, investors, intermediaries and policymakers from across central and eastern Europe to discuss the future of the region’s growing covered bond market.
The 2021 CEE Covered Bond Briefing will take place in the wake of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, continued central bank intervention in the market, historically low interest rates and as the market prepares for the imminent implementation of the much-discussed and debated Covered Bond Directive.
The Briefing will therefore be an ideal opportunity for key stakeholders in the market to convene and to take stock of the current environment, its impact on covered bond market and to chart the way forward for the market in months and years to come.
Together we will explore the impact that the macro environment has had on liquidity, issuance and spreads of CEE covereds. We’ll examine the role of covered bonds as the world’s economies seek to fund themselves out of recession. Finally, we will also look to the future and explore how the current crisis environment has affected the development of new covered bond jurisdictions in CEE. Has the pandemic shifted priorities and brought about a loss in momentum or will the implementation of the Directive spur on work in markets undergoing development?
