Increased government spending, a 6% rise in private investments and the creation of the SWF (sovereign wealth fund) holding assets worth billions of dollar. Has allowed for the Turkish economy to remain buoyant despite recent disruptions and market downgrade.

The Turkish government is determined to focus on implementing much-needed economic reform which will encourage domestic and foreign investment. Also, stability post-referendum will help to boost domestic consumption.

With projects such as the $10.2 billion Istanbul Grand Airport (IGA) and the $5 billion Çanakkale Bridge in the pipeline, Turkey has ambitious plans for mega infrastructure projects to be reached by 2023. These projects require large amounts of financing from the private sector, which in turns has created opportunities in PPPs.

The summit will have a strong focus on Private Equity and Venture Capital investments, which have continued to see steady growth. Turkey attracted over $12 billion worth of FDI in 2016.
