The U.S. Payments Forum, formerly the EMV Migration Forum, is a cross-industry body focused on supporting the introduction and implementation of EMV chip and other new and emerging technologies that protect the security of, and enhance opportunities for payment transactions within the United States. The Forum is the only non-profit organization whose membership includes the entire payments ecosystem, ensuring that all stakeholders have the opportunity to coordinate, cooperate on, and have a voice in the future of the U.S. payments industry. Since the formation of the organization as the EMV Migration Forum in 2012, more than 200 organizations from across the payments industry have joined as members. Membership is required for attendance at all Forum meetings.
Based on member input, seven working committees have been established and meet regularly through teleconferences and web conferences to work on agreed-upon objectives. Current Working Committees are ATM, Card-Not-Present Fraud, Communications and Education, Petroleum, Testing and Certification, Mobile and Contactless Payments, and Transit Contactless Open Payments Working Committees are led by volunteer chairs and consist of members from the wide range of stakeholder organizations that belong to the Forum, including issuers, merchants, acquirers/processors, regional debit networks, global payment networks, and industry suppliers..
