The global tax landscape continues to evolve and on the domestic front proposals for tax reform took centre stage at this year’s the federal election. In addition, the approach of tax administrators continues to change, keeping taxpayers and advisers busy. Over the past year the ATO has continued to roll out its justified trust program, presenting new challenges for taxpayers in dealing with tax risk in their organisations.

At this year’s Forum we’ve stuck with some of the perennial favourites such as Division 7A, M&A updates and current issues from the ATO. We’ve also got plenty of session on topical tax issues such as residency (both corporate and individual), estate planning and divorce.

International tax continues to be a key area of focus and developments with many countries seeking to take a bigger slice of the global tax pie. On this front we’ve got sessions on transfer pricing, the multilateral instrument and current cross border financing issues.
