With an impressive annual GDP growth rate of around 6.5%, Vietnam is well on the way to establishing itself as one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies. Key sectors fueling this economic engine are energy, processing industries, and high-tech fields like electronics, mining, metallurgy and chemicals. Agriculture, forestry, and fishing employ 40% of the workforce, while the services sector contributes 30% of the country’s GDP.

It has sustained a trade surplus since 2012, driven by an export-oriented economy and restricted imports. Facilitating this robust trade landscape is Vietnam’s extensive network of over 90 bilateral trade agreements and nearly 60 bilateral investment promotion and protection agreements.
