Rules around the provision of non-assurance services by auditors to their audit clients are changing.
The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants has released revisions to the non-assurance services (NAS) provisions of the Code, which the XRB intends to adopt in New Zealand, but with a stricter prohibition on the provision of tax advisory and tax planning services to an audit client that is a public interest entity. Other New Zealand changes are also proposed.
