This events is a visual resource showcasing the role of data in achieving the SDGs and highlighting the areas where data gaps negatively impact prospects of progress. It provides decision-makers, the development community, academics, journalists, and the public with timely data to guide decisions on what policy choices to make at mid-point in the implementation of the SDGs.
With this event, offices the World Bank Group Chief Economist and the World Bank Chief Statistician aim to:
• demonstrate, through interactive storytelling and data visualizations, the critical role of data in achieving the SDGs and how the availability of timely and granular data can help guide policymaking that leads to measurable positive outcomes,
• identify data-related challenges to accelerate progress in the attainment of the SDGs,
• discuss how innovation and partnerships have helped and will remain critical to helping overcome data-related obstacles to get the SDGs back on track.
