Africa has evolved rapidly over recent years, transforming both socially and economically. However, gender inequality remains an issue, costing sub-Saharan Africa on average US $95 billion a year, or 6% of the region’s GDP, jeopardising the continent’s efforts for inclusive human development and economic growth. In 2009, the first Global WIL Economic Forum broke new ground in the Middle East by giving a platform for women leaders to gather and create opportunities. Since then, the forum has travelled across continents and evolved much.
Committed to promote the role of women in the economy and unlock the potential of the next generation of female leaders, Naseba will be hosting the WIL Economic Forum Africa in partnership with Rwanda Development Bureau and Rwanda Convention Bureau. Held under the theme “G.R.I.T. Gauge | Redefine | Invest | Transform”, the forum places a particular focus on enacting social and economic change through diversity & inclusion, regional integration, impact investment, community building, and more. Further, WIL Economic Forum Africa will be officially documented with the record used to create actionable strategies that will be presented to the highest levels of government.
